Malta
Swedish candy
Nov 17th
I just read on En plats i solen that there is a new store in St. Julians that sells SWEDISH candy! It’s called Candynavia. I miss Ostbågar and Dillchips! But as it looks now I could be eating ostbågar next weekend! Happy!
I’m definitely going there later this week!
Looking at a flat with own roof in Għaxaq
Nov 14th
Today we’ve been looking at a flat in Għaxaq, in the southern part of Malta. Only small balcony outside the living room, but up on the roof there was a great space that could be used instead of terrace. The laundry-room was big and could easily be used as a summer kitchen insteadof laundry-room. The main bathroom in the flat was big and the washing machine could be place in there instead. The view was OK… but nothing special. The good thing with the flat was that the owner had spent some money on making the floor sound proof and put some isolation into the roof.

Looking at several flats in Marsascala
Nov 8th
Kalle saw an ad online earlier today and made an appointment with the estate agent. We thought we were gonna see a penthouse with unobstructed sea-view, that’s what the ad said. But it turned out to be a regular flat. Well, it had sea-view, but with a bunch of power lines just outside the balcony. So it was a waste of time to see that place. But the agent asked if we wanted to see some other objects she had, in Marsascala. We’ve heard that Marsascala isn’t the best place to invest in, but we thought we could take a look anyway.
She had several objects that were really interesting! i really fell in love with a penthouse with view over Marsascala bay and we could see all the big cargo ships passing by at the horizon. And the penthouse had the biggest terrace I’ve ever seen! WOW! But the flat itself were just a little bit too small. There were no good place for a washing machine for instance…

Laferla cross …well almost

We came to the parking lot close to Laferla Cross, but we ran out of time and had to leave immediately. But I managed to take this picture over the view from the parking lot anyway.

Nice view from the parking lot
Buskett Gardens

Buskett Gardens
Situated next to Verdala Palace in a valley just inland from Dingli Cliffs, Buskett Gardens was planted by the Knights as a hunting ground.
Heavily wooded with native, hardy species such as Mediterranean pines, Buskett Gardens was created by Grand Master Lascaris. The gardens also hold vineyards, orangeries, olive and lemon groves. There are pathways lined with ivy-clad stone walls and wilder woodland that allows for nature walks and exploration.
From autumn to spring the gardens are full of wild flowers, natural springs and woodland creatures. The wood leads up hill to the more formal gardens of Verdala Palace. A good picnic spot for tourists and locals, the garden is the venue for a lively summer tradition – the feast of L’Imnarja, a folk festival and harvest thanksgiving.

This sure is a popular place...
