High waves and swaying ferry

On the ferry to Gozo

-Not the best day for going with the ferry. That’s what I crossed my mind when we were waiting for departure at Cirkewwa. The waves were not huge, but big enough for the ferry to sway from one side to the other. It was a nice boat trip to Gozo anyway, and we came to Mgarr harbour without any problems.

Last stop for the day was Dingli cliffs. Unfortunately it was raining when we got there and the clouds were really low, so there wasn’t much of a view either.

On our way to Lapsi View Bar & Restaurant

We are getting hungry and decides to try one of the restaurants in Għar Lapsi. The first one was full and we would have to wait half an hour. That’s no good, so we went to the other restaurant instead.

While we were eating, it got darker outside and it started to rain.

Big waves today

The wind picked up speed during the afternoon and reached force 6 (strong breeze). On the way back from Mellieha we stopped outside Salina Bay and I took some pictures. Do I need to mention that I was wet and salty after my photo-expedition? :-)

Didn’t get much sleep last night

0

Yesterday I was feeling very homesick and sad, so I went to bed early. But after just one or two hours Gizmo started to wake me up. He was restless and wanted me to pet him constantly. There was some thunder, lightning and strong wind that made some noise and that probably kept him awake.

After 3 hours of being half asleep half awake I had to get up. I went out on the balcony and took down the laundry from the lines. I didn’t want it to disappear in the wind or get soaking wet if it started to rain! I also checked that windows were closed and after about one hour I went to bed again. After just some 20 minutes a heavy rain started and keept me awake even longer (but at least the laundry didn’t get wet again).

When we were watching tv this evening, I peered out the window and saw the Portomaso tower disappear in the mist. So I grabbed my camera and went up on the roof and took some pictures. It was really cool… the mist was only surrounding the buildings. Higher up it was clear and I could see the stars.
